"Rye Coalition: The Story of the Hard Luck 5" Review - Written By Abraham Phillips

Rye Coalition: The Story of the Hard Luck 5 (2014)

Plot: Filmmaker Jenni Matz traces the career of the band using some 20 years of home movies and unseen tour… footage.

My Review and Thoughts:

This is a deep Documentary that shares the biography of an interesting group and their plight through the many years of their gigs and legendary range of Rock n Roll. This is an expressive documentary that explores the wonder of music through one group. One true rock and roll band. One of the hardest New Jersey rock 'n roll bands throughout history. This band and documentary give the true meaning to the art form of music and to the art form of the love and passion of rock 'n roll. This is a brilliant education into this dynamic music band and the many years of their music kingdom. Sadly like all good masterly things the world takes hold and twist and turns what was already brilliant. The original Rye Coalition and the spiral and twist into The Hard Luck 5 and the ultimate break up, but most of all the reunited moments as fans still want the music and the art form. This film truly shines in their legacy.

I have always had a wonderful trip inside the world of music. I grew up with many types of tunes that I am proud to say I honor and respect and love all types of music. Simple put I love music. I know that is a simple way to say how much music truly means but it’s so much more than that statement. Music is away to relax, to express myself, to feel angry or at peace. Music makes the world go around. No matter country, tongue or greed there is always music. Music is one of the very foundations of life. The beating heart is music. Thinking is music. The personality and abilities of people is music. We are an electrified drum beat of passion and emotions and everyone is with a sound and a tune. I listen to all types of music. I am a true fan of the idea of music. I am always seeking out new music. I love to flood my mind and ears with the many types of singing and tunes that grace the instruments of the world. This documentary gave me that passion and respect for music.

You don’t know the true passion and heart of music until you know and listen to the RYE COALITION, it’s as simple as that.

This is a brilliant documentary created and brought to us by Jenni Matz. Might I add she wrote, produced and directed this golden ticket of music history perfection?

I feel this is a must see, must watch little piece of historical music style documentary on a band that knew the passion and art of ear candy. It opens the eyes, the thinking process on the passion people hold for the world of music... It opens the heart and soul to realize that music in its truest form always leaves a lasting mark.

I highly recommend this music rockumentary.

My Rating: 4 out of 5
