Press Release:

RLJ Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: RLJE) has acquired all U.S. rights to the thriller PAY THE GHOST. Written by Dan Kay and directed by Uli Edel (The Baader Meinhof Complex), PAY THE GHOST stars Academy Award Winner Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas, Rage) and Sarah Wayne Callies (AMC's "The Walking Dead"). Mark Ward, RLJ Entertainment's Chief Acquisitions Officer, made the announcement today. The film will be released in theaters and VOD on September 23, 2015.

"The intense action and scares in PAY THE GHOST will have audiences on the edge of their seats," said Ward. "We can't wait to get the film into theaters this September."

One year after his young son disappeared during a Halloween carnival, Mike Cole (Nicolas Cage) is haunted by eerie images and terrifying messages he can't explain. Together with his estranged wife (Sarah Wayne Callies), he will stop at nothing to unravel the mystery and find their son—and, in doing so, he unearths a legend that refuses to remain buried in the past.

Produced by Nicolas Chartier, Craig J. Flores, Ian Levy and Patrick Newall, the deal was negotiated by Voltage Pictures and Mark Ward and Grace Santos on behalf of RLJ Entertainment.

Recent RLJ Entertainment films, released under its Image Entertainment brand, include The Rewrite with Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei and written & directed by Marc Lawrence; The Cobbler with Adam Sandler, Cliff "Method Man" Smith, Steve Buscemi and written & directed by Tom McCarthy; Burying the Ex starring Anton Yelchin, Ashley Green, Alexandra Daddario and directed by Joe Dante; and Dark was the Night with Kevin Durand and Lukas Haas and directed by Jack Heller
